We have just come back from Mojacar Southern Spain. We went for two weeks and the day we arrived we wasn't very keen. As the holiday progressed it got better and we ended up buying an apartment out there.
Mojacar is meant to be where the famous Walt Disney was born. He had a spanish name and family and changed it when he went to the USA.
There is no proof, but the locals say it's true.
Mojacar is an all year year warm weather place to visit where in the hot seasons it can get to 36/40 degrees. The desert area known as Tabernas is where Mini Hollywood is and that's where they filmed Fist ful of Dollars and other Westerns. Also an Indiana Jones film was filmed in Mojacar.
Mojacar is split into two, the Pueblo the old town is high up on a hill where the Spanish live, the Mojacar Playa which is a really long stretch of coastal line, stretches on for 3 kilometres I think. The beaches are quite empty, there are bars and restaurants galore, even though they are quite spread out.
Overall It's a place worth visiting. |
