"Daytrip" Cambridge by DEBBBEDB

Friday we drove to Cambridge, parked in a park and ride and rode the bus into the city center (all these towns have tiny streets and it is generally better to abandon your car early). We decided to take a walking tour, which was very nice. The guide showed us Kings College, Trinity College, and told us loads of stories. He showed us the pub where Watson and Crick (sp?) hung out whilst discovering DNA, the room that Isaac Newton stayed in (complete with apple tree outside), and told us that Cambridge had 29 Nobel prizes in 100 years. After the tour we went back to the pub and ate lunch (we weren't inspired like Watson and Crick, oh well). After lunch we climbed one of the church towers and took pictures. Then my husband and daughter talked me into going punting on the River Cam (along with billions of others). My husband promptly took the camera and said that he would take pictures from the bridge - scum. Our daughter did the punting, and we only got hit a couple of times, never once turning the boat over (yeah). She said it was harder than it looked
