Downtown Winnipeg is crowded. Many, many cars on many, many roads with many narrow, narrow lanes.
Cross the Assiniboine River, however, and you're a whole new world. Air. Parks. Tree. Grass.
We've all heard that Manitoba isn't a very interesting province - but I was surprised by Winnipeg. Of course it's not Las Vegas or something of the like, but there are still many things to do and it's a nice to place to take walks when it's sunny. The hostel at which we were staying had tons of pamphlets advertising touristic activities and attractions.
The Assiniboine Park more specifically was my favorite. It's very big and beautiful and it has a lot of things to see - it has a zoo, a garden with statues, a lake, etc. It's a very nice place to spend a sunny afternoon. |
