"Old with the New" Montreal by Alex-Perth

I spent three days and two nights in Montreal... The difference from this place to Vancouver was that I felt like a woman. You may find that strange of me to say that but the fact is when I went shopping or walking around Vancouver I never got much attention. Not that I wanted it, but in Montreal, it's like you're in a city somewhere in Europe where the Men LOVE Women.
Doesn't matter what age you are they appreciate the female form. A simple stroll along the street will incite cat calls and whistles and friendly hello's. Also beautiful people dressed beautifully. Everywhere you look, people filled the sidewalks, shops, cars packed the street with admirers commenting on all the pretty girls. I found this a fun place to visit with a diversity of interesting people and buildings.
I ventured around New Montreal where the city is abuzz with bustling crowds everywhere you look. Shops galore filled with beautiful products of whatever you may require. Great bargains as well and the currency not much different to the ozzie dollar. I then walked through Old Montreal where the streets are cobbled and the architecture of the buildings are beautiful. I loved this place. Loved the atmosphere, the ambiance, the cosmopolitan lifestyle. Going into the shops was an experience where they would greet you with "Bonjour". So if you don't want them to say Bleu Bleu Bleu Bleu Bleu... after you say Bonjour, (Obvious) just say Hello and they'll respond to you in English.
When you buy something here, the packaging has two different sides. One side is in French the other in English. I could live here... Just a beautiful, exciting city.
Restaurants are plenty in this star struck City. I went into a restaurant called Buona Notte which means Good Night in Italian. I wore my hair down, a slinky black dress with a plunging neckline, strappy black stilettos and was accompanied by my male companion dressed in a shirt tie and business slacks. We were seated to the rear of the restaurant facing the many diners who mysteriously were watching my every move. When the waiter returned with our menu he was laughing and informed me that all the guests thought I was Catherine Zeta Jones and were wondering if I was going to sign a plate, as on the wall were plates signed by all the famous people that ate there. I was flattered by the compliment and informed the waiter that I'd be happy to sign a plate...
Beautiful food and atmosphere not only in that restaurant but others that we passed by and stopped in to have a drink. During the day walking along the street I even managed to have my photo taken with an American Day Time Soap Star. I didn't know who he was but found out he was Mark Manard from All My Children, I was just amazed at how incredibly handsome he was... Not only are the women in Montreal beautiful, but the men are too...
Yes a delightful optic feast for all...
- Pros:Great shopping, great restaurants, great people
- Cons:Make sure you get enough sleep
- In a nutshell:European atmosphere combining old with new!
