My daughter and I both got new digital SLR cameras recently so for xmas my son (her brother) suprised us with a 3 night photo week-end at the Pacific Sands in Tofina. We picked the dates and he took care of the accomodation. What a nice boy! We decided to go at the begining of February as she had time off from work and we thought that storm season would be an exciting time to take pics.
Okay, so we've packed lots of raingear, heavy sweaters, boots, etc and head off. It's a beautiful day! Sunny, warm and absolutely brilliant. Off come some of the layers and on go the sunglasses. After adequate caffine intake on the ferry we start off through the pass and the glare on the road is blinding but the scenery is spectacular. Lisa, loving the new digital, is snapping pictures during the whole drive - even the muck on the windshield thrown up from the heavily sanded road.
