Palermo is fun

We loved Palermo. Warnings from travel books and internet forums describe Palermo as dangerous and filled with pickpockets. Even the wonderful people of Palermo kept telling us how to carry our bags so we wouldn't be robbed. We never were, and never felt unsafe.

It is a city filled with energy! The tiny cobbled streets no bigger than alleys were busy with scooters, most carrying more than 1 occupant. No one wears helmets, although we were told that it is the law, even in Palermo. They just ignore it.
