Kosahan Square | Trace of Ottoman architecture - still standing |
We have crossed the Sea of Marmara. We are no longer in Europe. We are in Asia of Turkey. We are visiting Bursa. In Kosahan square the tourist are strolling along with the locals while others are sitting down on the bench looking at the fountain. In Kosahan Square you will see the tall monument represents winter sport. Uludak is only 30 km from Bursa, and it is the most celebrated skiing centre in Turkey. In Kosahan square you can admire the building of Ottoman architecture while sipping Turkish coffee. Bursa played an important part for the west to get acquainted with the east. It was the part of the ancient Silk Road. Perhaps Marco Polo stop in Bursa on the way to China. If you want to buy Turkish silk this is the town.
In Bursa we visited the tomb of Mehmet the First in the Yesil district. The Yesil Tomb is also known as the Green Tomb. Inside the Tomb is very ornate, the colourful mosaics decorates the wall. Mehmet the First was the second founder of the Ottoman state. He re-established the empire after the Mongolian invasion in the 15th century. In my opinion it is worthwhile visiting the tomb. |
