Boa Vista, cape verde
This was the most restful of trips, nothing but sea and sand for miles and miles, did not do much, hadn`t planned to. Got some beautiful weather and a week away from it all!

Hi Kat. Thank you for dropping by my Boa Vista page. The island jeep safari tour is brilliant - make sure you do it while you're there! You'll get to see the island's desert interior as well as secluded beaches that can only be reached in an off-road vehicle. The northern villages are small but interesting and the shipwreck at Santa Maria is probably the island's most famous sight. We arranged our trip independently, along with another couple, and paid 50 Euros per person. This was cheaper than Thomson/First Choice were charging for a less extensive tour of the island, so definitely worth arranging independently if you can. Our guide was called Tinh and our driver was called Dada - both were brilliantly informative and friendly. If you Google "Dada Boa Vista" you should be able to find his contact details and arrange for him to pick you up from the hotel. The more people you can get interested, the lower the price will be per person. The jeeps can comfortably seat 6 people (in addition to the driver and guide) and we were told that the price would be 35-40 Euros each if 6 people came along. Have a great time in Boa Vista and feel free to drop me a line if you have any more queries...
