Brussels - a Gem in Europe Brussels is famous for its chocolate, lace, and the Maneeken Pis. But it actually has a lot more to offer. Brussels is not only the capital of Belgium but also the headquarters of European Union and NATO. Some people refer her as the capital of Europe. It is a vibrant metropolitian city and yet it is small enough to feel cozy and managable. You can spend probably 2 - 3 days and see most of the Brussels.
Brussels has a lot of museums and restaurants to offer. There are also a lot of parks and gardens in the city. Some of the gardens reminded me of those in Paris.
The offical language in Brussles are French and Flemish. But most people can also speak English and German.
The public transportation is pretty easy to use. You can get around the city by using the Metro, Trams or buses.
Most people starts their trip in the grand place. The grand place used to be a merchant's market in the 13th century. The tourist office is also located in the grand place.
The city is really tourist friendly and great for walking. There are signs everywhere pointing to the main attractions. |
