My name is Klaus.

I was born in Aarhus, but raised in Struer which is a small town in Jutland.

I have also lived in Esbjerg and Vejle before ending up in Copenhagen in 1994.

I have a banking education, but have been working with programming, databases and business intelligence for more than ten years.

My VT-name, VALBYDK, derives from "Valby" which is the Copenhagen suburb where I have lived since 2001.

MY TRAVELS

Cape Verde 2011: Fogo Volcano...

My parents were campers - and when I was a child and young boy, we spent three weeks every summer driving all over Denmark.

My first – longer – trip abroad was by bus to the former Yugoslavia.

Now, I travel whenever I have the time (and money). Latest trip was Belgrade in January 2012. Read more on my travel pages.

My travelling companions are friends I have known for ages - some of them since my youth in Struer. My friends are ‘responsible’ for some of the photos I have used on my travelling pages.

FOOTBALL

2011: Cyprus - Denmark 1-4

Football (soccer) is my big passion!

I'm a member of the official supporter club (called "Roligans") for the Danish National Team, and I have been following the National Team on their away games quite a few times.

My favourite Danish club is Brondby IF.

Lastest football trip was "Ajax vs. Waalwijk, 3-0" in March 2012.

On some of my pages you'll find tips about mainstream attractions and facts which also can be found in guidebooks or on Wikipedia - but some stuff is written for my own memories too.

But I hope you'll find something useful, and if you have any questions about my travels don't hesitate to drop me a mail or a comment.

I have not participated in any big VT-meetings, but during the last couple of years I have met up with a few VT-members - both here in Copenhagen and on my own travels. Aways a pleasure to meet other members :)

Hei Klaus, og tak for sist. Har nu oprættet et møde den 9. Januar som vi talte om på fredag. Nu gælder det at få med så mange som mulig.
