Of our 6 visits to Vegas we have stayed 4 times in the Luxor so I guess you can say its our all time favourite. The second largest hotel in the US with over 4500 bedrooms, this is real value for money. The hotel has rooms in the main Pyramid, a black glass creation with a laser beam shining out of the pinnacle at night which they say can be seen in space, and two black glass towers, east and west . The atrium could hold nine 747 jets and is the biggest in the world. The hotel is nearing 12 years old and on our third visit we thought the rooms were looking tired, but on the fourth visit we were put on the 16th floor in the east tower and all the rooms and recently been refurbished and were excellent. The rooms are huge anyway but with new carpeting, drapes and furniture the whole place went back up in our expectations. A wide selection of restaurants to please everyones taste, and we have tried them all and been disappointed in none! Just love those slices of pizza up on the mezzanine floor! or the young waiter in the Isis restaurant whose job it was to offer slices of lemon or lime for your mineral water!
Unique Qualities: It really is breathtaking on first entry to this hotel. Huge obelisks and Egyptian mummies fill the Reception area and this is the only hotel with 45º slanting elevators. There are some amazing shops, with one selling real Egyptian artefacts where Michael Jackson was supposedly said to have spent 100s of 1000s of dollars.

The MGM Grand is one of the first hotels you see when flying into Vegas, purely because its the biggest hotel in the world. With over 5000 rooms this green glass giant towers over McCarren airport. It actually took me 20 minutes to walk from the entrance to my room! Full of fun entertainment and renowned for its hosting of main sporting events and showbiz stars, this is definitely a hotel for all the family to enjoy. Lots of good restaurants and cafes but very busy at weekends whatever time of year.
Unique Qualities: Five separate swimming pools cover an area of 6.5 acres and an amazing entertainment centre seating of 17000!

As they say "when in Rome."..... well you certainly can pass a funfilled, food feasting, money spending stay in this magnificent hotel. From the fountain-lined drive up to the chandlelier hanging entrance, this place really is what Las Vegas is all about. Renowned for decades for its opulence and extravagance, it continues to be the Heart of the Strip! With plenty of excellent restaurants, the whole place smells of showbiz personalities...whether performing or residing. UPDATE!Have just come back after our first stay in Caesars and oh what a disappointment! The room was large(LV style) but quite shabby. Bedside lamps broken and when housekeepiong was informed, their way of repair was to remove them..so no bedside lamps. Tatty bedlinen, small bathroom BUT there was a miniature TV in bathroom and after asking for high floor we were put on the 3rd with a brick wall for a view!! Sorry Caesars you need to take a leaf out of your neighbours(Bellagio) book, and we wont be staying again!.
Unique Qualities: The 250ft diameter Colosseum is the place to go for sheer delight in entertainment. We went to see Celine last year, sat in the 14th row from the stage and believe me I could have stayed there all week! Again renowned for some pretty important sports events and stage to some of the biggest names in showbiz.

Like a giant slice of chocolate cake, Steve Wynns latest edition to Las Vegas was definitely the catalyst for the word "luxury". An amazing hotel full of surprises that even boasts a full 18 hole golf course with 6 miles of cart paths right in its grounds! 40ft waterfalls tumble into lush tropical gardens making this one of the most sensational hotels ever built on the Strip
Unique Qualities: Some of the most exciting designer outlets fill the Wynn Esplanade. Dior and Chanel rub shoulders with Cartier and Manolo Blahnik. Theres an amazing area full of fresh flowers growing and designed to hang in large ball shapes from the ceiling...equally as beautiful as the Bellagios Conservatory

Whether youre 5 or 50 this hotel has all the makings for a funfilled stay. A great family hotel and very popular with children, so if you like a little peace and quiet now and then DONT go here. Themed as the castle of King Arthur the rooms are big and comfy and the hotel has lots to occupy the little ones even if they are not allowed into the casino. A giant dragon makes a nightly appearance from the lake at the entrance of the hotel and strolling minstrels perform juggling and musical acts all around the ground floor. You can even watch a jousting tournament acted by some pretty handsome knights in armour. Access by monorail to its neighbours the Luxor and Mandalay Bay hotels or by footbridge to New York,New York.
Unique Qualities: I just love the design of this hotel. Its enough to soften even the hardest of cynics.

Its hard to imagine you are not in France as you approach the Paris Hotel. Scaled versions of all the famous landmarks of Paris make this one of the most appealing hotels on the Strip. The Eiffel Tower takes pride of place and houses one of the finest restaurants in the area high on its second plateau, giving the diners superb views of Vegas. It rises from the casino area leaving its huge metal legs piercing the ceiling. Lots of lovely shops, pastisseries and all things mouthwatering that the French are famous for, line the little lanes off the casino and street cafes are in abundance both inside and outside the hotel. The Arc du Triumph spans the drive up to the entrance and the Station du Gar is the entrance.
Unique Qualities: The cocktail waitresses in the skimpiest Stationmaster costumes I have ever seen!

Its hard to believe that you are not actually in Venice as you stand beside the Venetian canals listening to the gondeleros serenade their passengers as they glide pass, until you realise you are on the second floor of this amazing hotel and the opera singers strolling round St Marks square are just actors. It was a mouthdropping experience for us as we entered the Venetian for apart from the scaled versions of the Doges Palace, Rialto Bridge and the Bridge of Sighs at the entrance, the sights that greet you as you enter the Reception area are almost beyond description. High domed ceilings covered in replicas of all the great artwork of years gone by, an abundance of Italian marble and the booming sound of the tenor opera singer are just the beginning of this experience. As you venture further into the hotel and climb the beautiful main staircase you come upon the canals, the gondolas, lanes of designer shops, street cafes around St.Marks square and all under a moving blue sky. The only thing missing are the PIGEONS!
Unique Qualities: The rooms are all suites in this hotel, huge and comfy and most with amazing views. Dont forget to order your Bellini in St Marks Square, that wonderful cocktail of Prosecco wine and crushed peaches.

On top of the MGM Grand is the ultimate in luxury called Skykofts.....personal loft suites for that very special occasion or just because you can. There are 51 2 storey lofts with ceiling to floor windows overlooking the Strip so imagine the views! On arrival you will be chauffeured from the airport and greeted by your own personal concierge who will introduce you to your very own butler who will be on hand 24 hours a day.
Unique Qualities: Choose a 1, 2 ,or 3 bedroomed loft where the bathrooms have infinity tubs with a 32"LCD next to it. Its own steam room and a TV in the bathroom mirror. The bedrooms all have aromatic oils for burning and creating a peaceful area for sleep and the whole comfort of the loft is controlled by remote. Now if I could afford this I would be giving first hand accounts but this is a special place so has special rates!! This will cost you anything from $600 a night to a whacking$10,000 depending on time of year.

Its always been a favourite but have never managed to stay there but with special offers on room rates ,this year we had seven great nights in this amazing hotel. Rooms with fountain views on the 18th floor were enormous and with a huge floor to ceiling window looking out onto the lake and the Strip beyond, it surpassed all our dreams. Giant kingsize beds with a tapestry canopy overhead, remote controlled drapes and lighting and one of the biggest bathrooms Ive ever seen with a tub and a shower for 6 people all made for a great stay.
Unique Qualities: With 10,000 employees this hotel really has a touch of luxury. So much to see and do here, from the amazing conservatory with its ever changing flowers and decorations, to the wonderful restaurants and lounges and a vast Spa with over 300 staff! 7 swimming pools surrounded by private villas with their own pools and jacuzzis and housing big name filmstars and the elegant shopping walkway where Dior, Fendi, and Gucci rub shoulders with Jimmy Shoo, Cartier and then some. This hotel is class!

With its great Manhattan Skyline featuring 47 floor high replicas of the Empire State building, the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge and a real life Coney Island roller coaster that actually runs thru the hotel and out again, you could easily be lead to think you are in New York City. The interior is even more mind boggling! Over 2000 rooms, New York streets with steam coming up thru the manhole covers, noisy Irish bars with duelling pianists, streetside cafes and fine restaurants with sides of ageing beef waiting to be ordered and a great NY atmosphere.
Unique Qualities: Ive not stayed in the rooms here but have visited the hotel many times and it really does have that fun feel.
