San Diego was the perfect base for us to stay on the coast for 5 days before heading off to Vegas. We chose the Coronado Bay area a small island between San Diego and the Pacific with access by a huge bridge, which took us just minutes to reach our hotel along the coast. An interesting stretch of beach used by the SEALs, the Us Navy elite, for their manoeuvres, was always worth a drive by, just incase they were there in full desert kit. The city of San Diego has so many attractions and we were able to enjoy quite a few of them as the roads made the driving seem relatively easy for us Brits. We rented a car at the airport on arrival and within 30 minutes of entering the highway, were in our hotel room.

San Diego is now my son's town. Known for great weather...and a gorgeous coastline. My favorite is Old Town.
