My wife and I spent our 25th anniversary in London. We stayed at a terrific hotel called 22 Jermyn St, which was just a short stroll away from Piccadilly Circus. We spent a week wandering through the many picturesque neighborhoods, parks, museums and palaces; all made even more interesting by the fact that the English election day was the day we arrived and the 60th anniversary of VE Day occurred during our stay.
There were so many places that we wanted to go to and just as many things that we wanted to see. We got to many of the places that we wanted to go to, but it will surely take another trip or two to London before we are sated. |
| | Buckingham Palace The flag was flying, which means the Queen was in residence. We hoped she would have joined us for a pint at the pub, but they tell me she prefers tea at home. |
| | Tower Bridge One of the great bridges of the world. No, it's not the longest. No, it's not the highest. But it's still one of the best. Still beautiful and functional after over one hundred years. Do make a point of visiting it. |

But I enjoyed seeing all those great things in one place without having to travel around the world : ) | rita_simoes Sun Apr 27, 2008 11:41 UTC Beautiful page and excellent photos!
