Getting TO/AROUND: We were traveling to Nice from Paris and decided to take the TGV (high speed train). The trip takes about 5 1/2 hours and passes through some lovely countryside terrain before cutting down through Marseilles and then through the towns of the Cote D'Azur. We booked a first class seat, which gave us reserved seats on the top level of the car. The seats were comfortable, and there was a club car where we could purchase food and beverages. All in all it was a nice way to travel down to Nice.

Getting TO/AROUND: Nice - Le Grand Tour is the name of the open top double deck bus tour that we took to see the sites of Nice. The bus does a general tour of the area including stops on Mount Biron, Cimiez, Place Garibaldi and a variety of other places. Your ticket allows you to hop on and hop off at the various sites so you're not just doing a drive by. Commentary is provided in six or seven languages, providing a description of some of the locations and monuments as you pass by. It was a great way to get around to the various sites. A one day pass was $18 EU.

Getting TO/AROUND: Another way to get around and see the sites along the Riviera is to book a tour. We used Azur Connection, which provided a comfortable van with a knowledgeable driver. Since this was our first time along the Cote D'Azur, it was a great way to get an overview of the sites and towns. There are many different tours to choose from. Ours was an all day tour that took us from Cannes to Monte Carlo; and included Antibes, St Paul de Vence, Biot, Nice, Villafranche Sur Mer and Eze. The price was about $70 EU.
