While walking around the Eiffel tower, we were approached by a woman who asked if we spoke english. Since we had been alerted to the scam and had seen her ask someone else before she came towards, my wife answered in Spanish. The woman immediately walked by us to someone else. I've heard other people talk of scams and hustlers near the tourist areas. I would just suggest that you keep your guard up and not be afraid to say No and walk on.
