Even though I was young, much younger then I am now, I still remember Hawaii like it was yesterday.
Diamond Head was the first thing I saw as our plane was landing, and the last thing I looked at before going to bed at night since our hotel room faced that direction.
We had gone into the crater to look around, but I wasn't able to climb up the side with my aunt and uncle, because my cousin was only a year old at the time so he and I stayed back with my grandmother.
I am not going to write the history on Diamond Head since there are other sites that have done a much better job then anything I could write, but I thought I would add my picture.
Around the Island there are many centers that have native dancing. This one was put on by Kodiak. I am not sure if they still do this since it was many moons ago, but it was enjoyable and after the show we were able to go down and meet the dancers.

Sadly, the Kodiak Hula Show is no longer in existence. If you ever find yourself back on Oahu, be sure you take the Diamond Head hike, the view from top is well worth the effort! Aloha
