Chiemsee

Chiemsee is a famous lake south of Munich. It is bigger than it seems at the first glance, especially if you arrive at Prien, because of a small peninsula. Along the northern part of Chiemsee it's good for biking. And along the way you'll find small offering grilled fish.

This is a nice market down in the Old Town of Munich. They sell flowers, vegetables, fruit, fish etc and you can sit down and have something to eat as well.

Neuschwanstein Schloss Neuschwanstein Review

The Castle of Neuschwanstein lies beutifully on a hill surrounded by trees. It's supposed to have influenced the castle in Disneyland in Paris. I am sure it most be even more fascinating in winter.

Englisch Garden Englischer Garten Review

The Englisch Garden is a huge green area. I think it is 10-15 km long and 1 km wide. You easily get lost, because of all the small roads, paths and rivers. It is good for walking, cycling, horse riding etc. And on the fields people play football or go sunbathing (yes, even here there are areas with nude Germans... ).

On of the most popular parts of the English Garden are the biergardens at the Chinese Tower, where a band often play typical Bavarian music.

City centre

The city centre of Munich has several old buildings, and sometimes you feel like walking in a medieval city, especially at night.

Olympic Park Olympiapark & Olympiastadion Review

I often went by bicycle through Munich and ended up in the Olympic Parc. The area consist of the Olympic buildings used at the summer olympics in 1972, the TV Tower and a big green area with hills and a lake. It has many roads. Good for bicycling, walking etc. On the top of the hill you get a great view of the Munich as well. ... yes... I liked Munich... and still miss it sometimes...
