Byron Bay is one of the favourites for backpackers. It is laidback and has nice beaches - and lots of travellers. However, the last years tourism has increased in Byron Bay, making everything more commercial and bigger. The town is expanding, and now also hosts luxurious appartments. Nothing bad about that... But I've spoken with people who escaped after the development started. It's probably like everywhere... The secret spots disappear when everone knows about them...
Well... still... Byron Bay's beaches are really nice... but if you want something less touristy, you're probably in the wrong town. |
