Pirate's Cove Putt Putt

This is not something I do often but we deceided to play a round of putt putt golf at the Pirate's Cove Putt Putt course outside of Sister Bay. The course was well laid out and was not tacky at all. Six of us played and really enjoyed the pirate themed holes.

Take a drive around the area

Door County is home to a number of wonderfully named communities such as Egg Harbour, Sturgeon Bay, Fish Creek, Washington Island, Ephraim, Southern Door and Sister Bay. One of the best ways to get a feel for the area is to jump in a car and drive around and discover the various towns for yourself. Some of the things to look out for are the cherry and apple orchards as well as the many Lighthouses that Door County is famous for.

Have a swim in the Lake

The cool waters of Lake Michigan are a perfect place to cool off during the warm summer months. There are plenty of places to go swimming. We swam in Sister Bay right off the main jetty and also in the nearby Peninsula State Park near Fish Creek.

Cherry Pit Spitting

Door County is famous for its cherries. We stopped at the Orchard Country Winery and Cider Mill where we bought a punett of cheeries and went out back to try our hand in the 'spitting pit'. Needless to say non of the records were challenged by any of us. Mind you at over 38 feet for the women's record and 48 feet for the men's it was always going to be a tough ask to even get close!!!! Great fun though!!!
