| The Habour entrance to Polperro |
Polperro is a village and fishing port on the south-east Cornwall coast in south west England, UK. Situated on the River Pol, it is a picturesque fishing harbour lined with tightly packed houses, containing some interesting little shops and a few very good restaurants. Apparently it is very busy in teh summer months but it was nice and quiet for us and it proved to be a super spot to relax and unwind. |
| Polperro Port at low tide |
| | The port The port is very interesting place and was once a hive of smuggling activities. The tide results in an incredible change in the water levels within the port. For many hours of each day the port is almost completely dry. There are many boat trips availbale to Looe and Fowey as well as fishing excursions. All are highly recommended |
What to do There is lots to keep you busy during a stay in Polperro. You can embark on one of the coastal walks to either Looe or Fowey. The paths take you along some spectacular coastal cliffs. There are fishing excursions and day trips to other ports. Plenty of good tea shops and some good fish and chips. We did lots of reading and lying around in the sun. | | |
