The Fam

Go Rangers!
So, my boyfriend's family is from Scotland...Glasgow in particular. All of his family (other than his parents and siblings) sitll live in Glasgow, so it's nice to have a place to stay whenever we feel like getting away. Glasgow is a great city, and I'm not just saying that because I'm biased.
Nightlife

The City...Day & Night

The downtown area is amazing...shopping, bars/clubs, parks. During the day, Glasgow is a great place to hang out with friends or family. There are plenty of shopping areas, which I am particularly fond of. There are also an abundance of restaurants with food from all over the world. The nightlife of Glasgow is even better. Bars are EVERYWHERE! Most of the bars are 18 and up, so there are a lot of people who go out on the weekends. The clubs in Glasgow aren't like your typical clubs in the States. They are huge, with multiple floors and bar areas. The music is amazing...not your typical ghetto hip hop, but more of a dj show, with mixes and compilations. It's a really great scene and a great place to meet new friends.

The Outskirts

The outskirts of Glasgow are beautiful. Green, rolling hills, beautiful lochs, amazing parks. Fortunately, I was with people who know the area very well, so we got to go to all the "secret places" around the city. Loch Lomond was especially beautiful. Surrounded by mountains, trees, and beaches, every angle of the loch was amazing. If you're visiting the area, I would suggest renting a car (be careful...they drive on the opposite side of the street!) and checking out the countryside.

Scotland, in general, is a great country. There's so much to do and to see...we spent about 3 weeks there and I still feel like there's so much I haven't yet seen. It's an amazingly friendly and relaxed place, great for a peaceful vacation.

Pros:"Beautiful and entertaining!!"
Cons:"They drive on the opposite side of the street and traffic patterns can be very confusing."
In A Nutshell:"Adventure to relaxation...it caters to all!"
