My Journey Across the World....

by ericak1607 - last update: Jan 11, 2007

Golden Gate Bridge, San Fran

The States

So, I have this goal to visit all 50 states. I have a great job which has helped me work toward this goal. Also, I have a habit of packing up the car and the friends and just driving to some place new. So far, I've been to 29 states...half way there. This summer, my sister and I are planning on driving across the country and visiting some new spots...any good suggestions?? We don't have an itinerary, we're just going to go...so give me all you got!!

AL, AR, AK, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MD, MA, MI, MS, MO, NV, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WV

Scotland

My boyfriend's fam is from Scotland, so we visit quite often...it's nice to have a place to stay whenever we feel like getting away!! It's a beautiful country, you should check it out!
Loch Lomond, Scotland
Dam Square, Amsterdam

Amsterdam

Ah, Amsterdam...such a liberated city!! Had the time of my life in Amsterdam. So much to see, do, try...not enough time. Check it, if you haven't already!

London

London is HUGE!! There's so much to see, way too much to see. We walked for hours and hours...unfortunately, I forgot my good walking shoes in Scotland...yeah, that sucked. But, it was a great city and Brian & I took on quite a few adventures!
Big Ben & Houses of Parliament, London
View of the Andes Mountains

Chile

I went to Chile for a couple of weeks for school credit. It was a great trip! I made a lot of new friends and I learned sooo much! Chile is a beautiful country, it has the most diverse climate in the world, with the northern part of Chile being the driest desert in the world, the central part similar to a midwest climate, and the southern part as the coldest and wettest area in the world. Check it, for sure!

Mexico

Spring break 2006...walked across the border to Tijuana. How exciting...yeah. I was actually visiting San Diego, and if you know anything about the area, you know that the border is right outside of the city. So, we took the train to the border and walked across. It was very Americanized and pretty dirty. But, what can you do? Definitely not my idea of traditional Mexico, but it's Mexico.

Brazil

Brazil is another amazing place and I'm so fortunate to have been able to visit. As with Chile, I went to Brazil through a school program. I was even able to do some research for my master's thesis! Beautiful cities, heavenly rainforests, friendly people, delicious food. Such an amazing and diverse country. Definitely worth the visit, although if I were to go back, I would visit the northern part of the country instead of staying in the south.
