Auckland known as the "City of Sails" is located on the North Island of New Zealand. There is lots to see and do- museums, sailing, canyoning, bungy/ bridge climb, visiting an extinct volcanoe, search for sheep...the list goes on and on. |
Auckland Museum %f The first floor has Pacific Island & Maori culture on display. It also has exhibits on nature and science. The second floor is mainly dedicated to New Zealand at war. It is worth a visit if you are interested in NZ history.%f* |
Canyoning A nice excursion we did was abseiling in the Waitakere Ranges. We got to hike through the rain forest, abseil down waterfalls and jump into pools of water. We had never done this before and it was really interesting.
The picture below is the whole area that we abseiled.
The trip included pickup from Auckland, snacks and lunch. We also got to stop at Piha beach to take some pictures on the way back. |
