I never thought much of Hangzhou. So what is the big deal of a lake. But when I got to Hangzhou, I was won over, heart and soul. You have to be there in Hangzhou, walking along the lake, crossing the bridges and travessing the lake by boat. |
| | Sitting in the pavillion, looking at carps coming for their feed, the swaying willow trees in the light breeze with the magpies singing and an old man playing his flute, the children running in glee and the couple hand-in-hand in a world of their own. |
| | Life by the lake has never been better. No wonder so much has been written in Chinese poetry and literature of West Lake.
Now I understand why some places must be seen and experienced in person. |
