"Toba - Pearls, Pearls, Pearls" Toba by SLLiew
Toba Travel Guide: 7 reviews and 19 photos
Toba is where mass cultivation of artificial pearls started by Kokichi Mikimoto in the late 19th century.
I find the pace here so much slower than Tokyo and can smell the ocean and hear the lapping of the waves. Great place to unwind and wait patiently for transport and a boat trip in the bay.

nice page. i just read a book that took place in toba in the 17th century.
Dugong is so cue..and those Mikimoto pearls are popular in Philippines...
it seem you tour almost all part of japan great tips
Ha, I wouldn't fancy preparing a Scorpion Fish to eat!!!!
Nice page! BTW -- I think "Dugong" is "Manatee" in (at least American) English. Thanks for sharing! Cheers, Mark
In the Red Sea I have once taken a photo of a moray and a Lionfish in the same photo, but I have never seen so many morays at the same location.
Toba aquarium appears like a good stop. I also want to see the divers going for oyster pearls. Nice tips.
Wedded Rocks of Ise-Toba look fantastic!
Amazing photos and great tips! Greetings from Sweden! :)
Good page on toba, the only toba which I know before this is lake toba :)
