"I Love Tokyo"

by SLLiew - last update: Dec 17, 2006

City skyline with green lungs

Heart of Japan

Tokyo is the capital, economic center and the heart of modern Japan.

Have visited Tokyo many times and have never get bored of Tokyo.

Some of my usual hangouts are Shinjuku, Shibuya and Ginza.

Tokyo is easy to move around with the trains, subways and buses. Taxis are slightly expensive.

If you love cities, you will fall in love with Tokyo too.

Symbol of Tokyo

Imagine Gonzilla climbing up Tokyo Tower. Or waiting for the Tower to light up at night viewing from your hotel window.

Tokyo is incredibly flat with a few tall skyscrappers structures at a few seismic stable areas of the city.

So when you are at Tower Tower or Sunshine 60 or Tokyo Municipal Building, you will have a fantastic bird's eye view.

Hachiko - the loyal dog

Another popular Tokyo icon

There are many tourist destinations that can be reached easily by the Tokyo massive subway.

In front of the Shibuya subway station, is a iconic statue of the dog that symbolize loyalty,

Tokyo with the many suburbs is full of surprises awaiting to be explored and discovered with many tales and stories to be told.

I can see that you really like Tokyo. I'm not fond of big cities, but the Tokyo Tower looks like something I would be interested in seeing. Also many other great things to see and do. Good job SL

Not sure if Tokyo is a place for me, but your tips are nice as always.

Your dog story reminds me of Greyfriar's Bobby in Edinburgh = I see you found a little of Moscow in Tokyo = nice page!
