Attended a convention in St. Louis and got to experience this great historic city along the mighty Mississippi River.
At one time, this mid-west city challenged Chicago to the number one city west of New York City.
The beautiful St. Louis Gateway Arch dominates the city skyline over the river.
Across the river is the famous brewery for Budweiser wher you can take a fre tour and get some free beers.
Enjoyed the going up the Arch, visiting the museum reflecting life in the pioneer years of going West and a zoo not to be missed.

St. Louis is a favorite city of mine, and the zoo is indeed a great one. I loved the park too. They also have excellent museums. You've done a terrific job. Too bad about the woman who was followed to hotel and robbed.
Thanks for this quick tour of Saint Louis, a city I have always wanted to visit but keep missing by inches! The view from atop the Arch must be very impressive!
some unusual tips here :-) i have started following your footsteps now :-) the zoo reminds me of free entry lincoln park zoo of chicago.
I didn't know it was possible to go up in the arch to see the view. The zoo sounds like a great place to visit. Nice page SL!
St Louis looks like an interesting place to visit, SL. A *free* zoo makes a nice change from many places I've visited (with expensive entry prices). It's just a shame that the local Budweiser beer is amongst the worst I've ever had! ;-)

Hi SL! I crossed the bridge to Illinois at 5AM with my camera in hand, got a lift from a cop in Illinois back to the bridge and... felt safe all the time. Lucky me or crazy me?
Shame about the crime, could be why I don't like large , crowded places!!
