Portland is the largest city in Maine.

Visited the LLB outlet nearby too about 16 miles away in Freeport

LL Bean is a famous catalogue brand for trendy colleague students and outdoor enthusiast. So it is fun to see and touch all that is available before buying. Need another camping accessory? A paddle boat perhaps and the latest fashion wear to go along.

In the summer, pulling up cages to check out the right size of lobster for the catch.

Too small or too large or egg laying lobsters are thrown back into the sea.

The rest end up on our plates.

Maine in winter is quite an amazing place. Excellent tips on winter driving. As for lobster, normally boil it 3 minutes per pound. Salting the water isn't necessary, though some purists insist on boiling lobsters in seawater.

Enjoyed viewing your snow pictures while here in the Texas heat. We are thinking of going to Maine to see the Whales.

It's nice you were able to see Maine's good side in the summer, as winters can be brutal there. When I was a kid we also camped in Acadian NP.

This was an appropriate page for me to view as we just returned from a trip there. Like you, we really enjoyed the Maine coast and lobster and lighthouses. Fun page - very enjoyable.
