Pahang - Highlands, Parks, Beaches, Island - Negeri Pahang

Pahang is one of the largest state in Peninsular Malaysia with a eastern coastline facing the South China Sea and the Main Range mountains on the state western border.

Along the main range are the popular Genting Highlands Casino and Theme Park, Cameron Highlands, Fraser's Hill and Berjaya Highland.

Then there are parks like Taman Negara (National Park) and the Endau Rompin Park and Lake Chini. There is a Club Med at Cherating Beach and well known Tioman island.

The capital is Kuantan with the royal town of Pekan where horse polo is played and Kuala Lipis is nice old inland riverside town.

Very enjoyable page about Negeri Pahang. I especially liked your information about the Tapir AND the warning about leeches. I had no idea that there were special socks to protect one from such yucky leeches!

HOnestly, great tips! I would really like to go to the highlands or meet a Malayan tapir. It quite an extraordinary animal for me. Gosh, Pahang is a very interesting place to wander!
