Hong Ngoc Hotel: Budget Business Hotel in Hanoi Compare Rates
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Hong Ngoc has 4 different locations. Stayed at one of the newer branch at 99 Ma May, in the Old Quarters, near Lake Hoan Kiem. So close to all the travel agents and tourist restaurants.

Newly furnished with nice traditional Chinese wood furniture. Breakfast is included with both Vietnamese and International (not either or). So have a hearty breakfast of eggs and bread with orange juice and beef noodles with coffee.

There is a nice elevator. Only thing is you have to wake up the hotel staff who will sleep on the lobby floor when you come back late at night.

Choose a room with balcony into the street.

Highly recommended. Satelite television, small room but good hot showers, safe deposit box in the room and hair dryer, fridge included.

When I was in Hanoi in 1995 I rented a bicycle and had a great time riding all around. But you're right about the Vietnamese way of road crossing: it does not work in most other countries, certainly not in Germany.

Vietnam is high on the list of countries I want to visit. And Hanoi looks like a particularly pleasant city.

I stayed in Hanoi for 3 weeks back in 97 and found the traffic to be horrendous...and it must have tripled by now...

I loved this city, busy, yes, but still very nice.
