Ko Tao means "Turtle Island" in Thai. The turtles have disappeared as the tourists arrive.
It is not easy to get to Ko Tao as there is no airport like Ko Samui and Phuket. Hence the allure too.
Ko Tao is definitely worth visiting at least once. You can make it a combined island hopping trip of Ko Samui, Ko Phangan and Ko Tao. |
