Less than an hour by boat from Singapore is Batam Island.
There is a time zone difference of an hour.
Singapore - 8AM GMT, Batam Island - 7AM GMT
Can go as a day trip, or stay a night or two in Batam Island.
Unless you want to wander on your own, a package tour that includes transportation, meal, sight seeing bus is value for money. Available at the different agencies at the Harbour Ferry Terminal in Singapore. Book a day ahead and bring your passport along for booking.

Good page of Batam. Beside visiting the 2 major supermarket and buying stamp, I wonder what else we can do here in Batam. Are there any interesting activities that we can do? :-P Take care.
