"Baranya County" Baranya Megye by Felsomindszent

Baranya County is situated in Transdanubia on Hungary's Southern border. It is predominantly farming country, althoug coal, uranium is also produced. In the Southern parts of the County there are several thermal baths.
It's seat is the city of Pecs, which is Hungary's fifth largest City.
It is said that this area was first inhabited around 6000 BC.

The city of Pecs is situated at the foot of the Mecsek Mountain Range. It has many reminders of the 150 years of Turkish occupation. It boasts having the first University in Hungary.

The Mecsek Mountain give Pecs a backdrop without parallel. Dotted throughout are a number of Coal Mines as well as one Uranium Mine.
In the Summer months it is ideal for family outings among it's pine trees.
