Short break in Alicante

We visited Alicante for three nights for a short winter break and looking for some sun! After having considered our options in Spain, Alicante looked like the best best for warm(ish) weather.

We arrived to dry, warm weather and it stayed like that the whole time. You can be unlucky in December, but we had days of 14-16C, peaking at 18C one day. In the sun, sitting in a terrace cafe, it's just great.

We were surprised by how quiet it was, expecting there to be more winter tourists than there actually were.

Alicante is pretty small, and unless you're planning to lie on the beach and cook for a week without doing anything else, we'd recommend it for a short break weekend
