Perhaps the most famous "person" to live in Nottinghamshire was Robin Hood and he now stands outside of Nottingham Castle without fear. He could never have done this a few hundred years ago but we are not sure though who he is shooting at now.
Built in to the sandstone in 1189 AD just below the Nottingham Castle is the World Famous pub "The Trip to Jerusalem". It has been said that the Knights, on their way to catch the ships that would transport them to fight in The Crusades stopped here for a rest and a few refreshments.
On certain nights you can sit and listen to a few local ghost stories while sipping a great pint of bitter and eating a typical English meal.
