Things To Do: Tan Son Nhat Airport
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • We arrived at the Tan Son Nhat Airport where we met up with our guide and driver. We were quite surprised that there were only 2 of us in the group without any other people joining us. Thus, we got the luxury of having our own personal guide and driver. We went around the city by car instead of van/coach :) Sometimes, we can also request to visit some places that are not inside our itinery eg. Chicken Village and Crazy House

Don't forget to take a photo before you leave the airport! Cheesz! Yeh.. the journey at Ho Chi Minh starts..

Faces of the city: Faces of the city
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • It is uncommon not to see a motorbike around! They are almost everywhere... and sometimes, you can also see a family of 4 on the bike, with the youngest child sitting right in front.. People from all walks of life ride on the bike... It is the main mode of transport over here in Ho Chi Minh. Of course, walking along the road requires certain skills.

Notre Dame Cathedral: Notre Dame Cathedral
  • Tip Rating:
  • This place is really full of life and vibrant! Can see many people standing outside the cathedral? Probably waiting for their friends/ spouses. You can also find many couples coming here to take their wedding photos too.

Post Office: Old Saigon Post Office
  • Tip Rating:
  • The post office is just situated next to the cathedral so you shouldn't had missed it. It was built by the French and designed by Gustav Eiffel. Look at the architecture.. you'll be impressed.

Post Office: Interior of the Post Office
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Interesting Dome-shaped ceiling at the interior of the Post Office.... Also, you can find Ho Chi Minh's portrait right at the back. Over here, you can buy some postcards/ stamps to take back home as souvenir. Or you may even want to send a postcard back home in case your family misses you....but hopefully it will arrive in time before you reach home :)

    Reunification Palace: Reunification Palace
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • This magnificent building is the former presidential palace. It is open from 7.30 to 11am in the morning and 1 to 4pm in the afternoon. We reached there around 5 plus, thus didn't managed to go into the building. I only managed to take this picture outside behind the gate.

War Remnants Museum: Learn about the Vietnam War here
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • On 8th March, 1965, for the first time, a unit of US troops landed on Da Nang....... At this War Remnants Museum, you can learn more about the history of Vietnam war through the exhibits of photos (Mostly quite disturbing). Look at my photo posted for this tip, there is even a display of 2 preserved deformed babies somewhere at the centre below the red poster. Of course, I didn't want to take a close-up picture of these. You will also learn about the kind of weapons and bombs that they used during the war.
