"I prefer only natural light, without using color filters and computers to create my photographs. To express these visions of natural phenomena requires great persistence and patience for the glory coming to fruition." - Michael Fatali ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ An optimist is a person who sees a green light everywhere. The pessimist sees only the red light. But the truly wise person is colour blind. - Albert Schweitzer. Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take But the Places and Moments that take our breath away.

- George Eastman

| | What a Wonderful World. The world is a wonderful place if you don't watch CNN. Louis Armstrong was right-what a wonderful world. You've to do it at the right time, before you're too old, before your health goes. There are lots of other trips out there that I am going to be doing; life is good.

Simple Things.
Bring me a rose in Winter, or a bird that sweetly sings, Think not the simplest thing too small, Love thrives on little things. Show me a sunset, Standing close by my side and tell Whether your day went well or ill...

My childhood And the Land of My Birth Two lost in the distant shore Where my soul is longing for.

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent. " - Eleanor Roosevelt |
| | Put a little love in your heart... The brain may take advice, but not the heart, and love, having no geography, having no boundaries.
- Truman Capote.
Young, restless was she Like a willow she caressed the wind And as crystal autumn mornings Fade into dusty afternoons She passed my way And was gone again. Gone are the days when you and I would lay together Oh, how the times would roll! But soon, much too soon summertime had come And bound separate ways... You know that I can make you no promises But when I sing of rivers and the highways in the rain My thoughts will drift always back to you...

These days will be remembered... Though they pass and run too soon But deep down inside where the special feelings ride, We'll call them our gentle afternoon.
- J. St. J. ================ "Three Came Home" ================ Agnes Newton Keith, Japanese prisoner of World War II on the Island of Borneo.
. We are not pleasant people here, for the story of war is always the story of hate; it makes no difference with whom one fights. The hate destroys you spiritually as the fighting destroys you bodily. If there are tears shed here, they are for the death of good feeling. If there is horror, it is for those who speak indiferently of "the next war". If there is hate, it is hateful qualities, not nations. If there is love, it is because this alone kept me alive and sane. . It is better to give more and to have less - and to keep the peace - than to fight. . Hate is worth neither living or dying for. . We in prison were now mistreated ones yet it would be only a matter of time, and the turn of the tide, before we would be abusers, and our captors the abused, because we had in ourselves the same instincts for brutality. War evoked and exalted this instincts. It was war that we must hate, and not each other. |
Malay Puntuns for Travellers. Here Today ========= Malam ini merendang jagong, To-night the maize for roasting set;
Malam esok merendang serai. Tomorrow it is lemon grass.
Malam ini kita berkampong Tonight we are together met;
Malam esok kita bercherai. Tomorrow on our ways we pass.
Meetings In Store ============== Dari mana hendak ka-mana? Whence are you and where away?
Tinggi rumput dari padi. Grass is taller than the grain.
Tahun mana bulan yang mana, When will be the year and day
Hendak kita berjumpa lagi? That we shall meet again.
Lifelong Gratitude ============== Pisang emas bawa belayar, With golden plantain sail away,
Masak sa-biji di-atas peti. Whilst on a chest lies one that's ripe.
Hutang emas dapat di-bayar, The debts of gold we can repay;
Hutang budi di-bawa mati. But debts of kindness last through life. |

There are places I'll remember All my life though some have changed Some forever not for better Some have gone and some remain All these places had their moments With lovers and friends I still can recall Some are dead and some are living In my life I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers There is no one compares with you And these memories lose their meaning When I think of love as something new Though I know I'll never lose affection For people and things that went before I know I'll often stop and think about them In my life I love you more
Though I know I'll never lose affection For people and things that went before I know I'll often stop and think about them In my life I love you more In my life I love you more |
