"Santa Fe De Antioquia" Santa Fe by Terje1966

Santa Fe Travel Guide: 21 reviews and 125 photos

A day away from the chaotic streets of Medellin. About one hour away having crossed a mountain and the Rio Cauca(Colombias second largest river after R Magdalena) in a bus with just another mad bus driver, we "landed" in the small rather touristy town of Santa Fe. The areas along the highway were full of resorts with swimmingpools. This place along with San Jeronimo a bit closer to Medellin is a holliday area for the richer people of Medellin. This place is at a much lower altitude than Medellin and is therefore ususally much warmer.

Beautiful houses

Everything was clean and painted in strong and nice colours and the Latin American factor was total. There were even ranch ovners out riding on their finest horses in the streets.

Historic town

This town was once the capital of Antioquia and is famous for its colonial architecture.
