"Mandawa in Haryana" Mandawa by Terje1966

After a few hours in car on a road almost covered with sand dunes we reached Mandawa in the state of Haryana not wery far from Delhi. This was our last stop before we were flying home to Norway.
We had`nt planned anything and when we heard that the town was famous for its haveli paintings we bought a guided trip around the narrow streets of this relatively small town.

Haveli paintings are simply paintings on houses and to show us this we were dragged through peoples houses without warning them. Most of them looked wery surprised to suddently see us in their house and shouted to our guide.
The paintings themselves were mostly as worn down as the rest of the town.
We had dinner at the restaurants on the rooftop of the hotel. That was a pleasant surprise with the always fantastic Indian cuisine, entertainment and a breeze to keep us from beeing cooked alive.
From the rooftop we could see all of Mandawa and watch Eagles hunting for Squirrels on the other roofs and backyards.
I am sorry that I at the moment cant find any pictures from Mandawa.
