Peace and Beauty It may be hard to imagine, but this place has it's own peace and beauty. Though I was there when it was still not that peaceful, you can feel the difference between the big cities and this place as the people go contentedly around their daily lives.
The only issue they have is when people oppress them. Other then that, they are a bunch of nice and friendly people.
The official language here is Tetum and Portuguese. You might also get by with English and Bahasa Indonesia. |
Keeping the Peace in the Beauty Why did I come to East Timor.. or now known offically as Timor Leste? Well, I was part of the peacekeeping forces sent to timor after the turbulebce of 1999.
Timor Leste is by no means a dangerous place. It is in fact someplace that I will wish to visit again some day.
At the moment though, it is not much of a tourist place. All that is there will be seas, mountains and corals. And the legendary Crocodile. |
