Stranraer

Stranraer is a nice place to visit, there are loads of interesting places to see, the ferry goes to Ireland from here and there are rail links to Ayr/Glasgow.There are a lot of interesting wee shops in the town and plenty of eating places and bars. There is a market once a week and two supermarkets.Leisure facilities are a swimming pool and also a cinema. In the middle of the town there is a castle where you can climb up the stairs and stand on the roof and look all round the area, there is also a museum further up the road with interesting exhibitions. The public libary has a host of interesting leaflets which will show you places to visit, there is also a tourist information office.Portpartrick is a beautiful village not far from Stranraer where you can enjoy eating out in the many restruants who specialise in fresh fish. You can sit outside and watch the harbour and see the creel boats going out. There are many caravan parks dotted throughout the area and there are good bus links to Dumfries and Wigtown, which is the book town. There are also buslinks south to Birmingham etc.
