The Toronto City Hall is within the Nathan Phillips Square in Downtown Toronto. The square is named after Nathan Phillips, the Mayor from 1955 to 1962. This tourist attraction became popular to both tourists and Canadians. The locals congregate around the pool to relax and people watch in the summer time and enjoy the Peace Garden in the middle. It is also at this season of the year when free concerts, dance performances and art exhibition are being held. You will also enjoy winter season in Toronto. The pool is being used and transformed as an outdoor skating rink. Please be aware that there are skates for rent in a small building at the square. In one of the photos I posted here, you will see the arches over the pond or ice rink. This is called the Freedom Arches that was built in the Year 1989. There are still a lot to see at the Square to make your stay in Toronto a memorable one. Other tourist attractions can be reached on foot if you enjoy walking. Come visit Toronto and I will show you around the downtown core including the most visited Nathan Phillips Square and The New Toronto City Hall.

Come visit St. Lawrence Market and be a part of the history of the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood. It is very accessible to public transport in Toronto that made it easy to locate. It is situated between King Street East and the Esplanade and west of Jarvis Street. The market caters for all consumable food items. The last time I went to the market was when I had lunch few weeks ago. There is a big space to have your lunch or dinner with wide array of menu selection. You can sit down and have Greek souvlaki, Korean food, Chinese and Arabic to name a few. You will definitely enjoy the place to eat and have food "to go" at reasonable prices. Fresh fruits and vegetables are always available for you. There is a lot more that you can find in this major market. I invite you to check information at www.stlawrencemarket.comSo, come on and enjoy your meal at the St. Lawrence Market in Toronto!

This theatre is situated in the heart of downtown Toronto and is called a double decker being fully restored and built one on top of the other. It was first opened in the year 1913. The seven-storey Winter Garden Theatre was constructed above the Elgin Theatre. They have two distinctively different ambiance. The downstairs Elgin is more formal with gold leaf and rich fabric and is larger with 1,500 seating capacity while the Winter Garden is more of a botanical fantasy and painted to look like a garden and has 1,000-seats. Both theatres cater for Broadway musicals, dramas, concerts, and opera performances. It is also hosting the Toronto International Film Festival. You can have a guided tour on Thursdays at 5:00 P.M. and Saturdays at 11:00 A.M. Special tours can also be arranged and booked thru the theatre at the following telephone: 416-314-2871 or 416 597-0956

Today is September 2, 2006. Just had a day of entertainment and amusement at the Paramount Canada's Wonderland. It's been raining all day, but it's a lot of fun. I just thought this land of wonder is just for the kids and the young. It is not! While I did see that majority who enjoyed the rides are the 'young ones', there are also 'young once' who likes just sitting, watching nice people around, or just having fun at the Kingswood Theatre. Yes, it is Filipino Day at the Wonderland. We enjoyed their incredible show. It was a show of shows with all those Philippine theme. It does not happen everyday anyways. The Paramount Canada's Wonderland is North America's greatest variety of roller coasters, and Splash Works. There is no doubt about that. It has too many attractions, maybe more than 200 hundred and approximately 50 to 60 rides. I am not going to go into detail on what attractions and rides you are going to enjoy, but all I can say is that if you visit Canada, you don't have to miss such a beautiful real wonder. It's more Fun for You and your family. You will be happy to know that it is accessible to public transporation: *'Go' buses run regularly from Yorkdale and York Mills subway stations throughout the day and evening through closing. *York Region Transit (YRT) buses# 165a, 4, 20, and the Wonderbus (this is an express route, that operates weekends and holidays throughout the summer months). For complete information on what else you should know about Paramount Canada's Wonderland, please feel free to check the website I provided below. You will see more pictures of the theme park on their website.

Things To Do: Most Prestigious Thoroughfare in Toronto

University Avenue is known to be the most prestigious thoroughfare in Toronto. One of the pictures I posted here was taken along this avenue with partial view of the CN Tower, Canada Life Building, and Queens Park. The street is home to many corporate offices and provincial government buildings. You will be glad to know that the Canadian Opera Company, which is the largest opera company in Canada and the National Ballet of Canada, which is the largest ballet troupe, are now housed at the Four Seasons Centre situated in the University Avenue. It is interesting to note that this avenue has a long list of big hospitals like Toronto General Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital and the hospital exclusively for children, Hospital for Sick Children.
