It was a brief stay in Detroit but being my first time, I enjoyed it by way of going around downtown Detroit, meeting a friend, having lunch at the Park, and most especially watching the softball game of the Tigers.
It was a Sunday morning when we left Toronto so there is not much traffic. As usual, I did not sleep on my whole trip and was busy looking outside and appreciate the scenery as far as I can see.
As I have been mentioning in my other pages, it is not only the beauty of the place why I enjoy my travelling. The attitude of the local people plays a very important role in wherever I go. Detroit is not an exception.
First thing I have noticed. On the road, people are well disciplined. They follow traffic regulations no matter how empty the street was during my trip. We went to the Park, people mind their own business and do not bother anyone. We went to buy some souvenirs at the park and the vendors are polite and pleasing. It does not end there. We went to see softball game. From the entrance to the seats we had, the staff were so accomodating, spectators are enjoying, and the people around us are very friendly.
To sum it up all, I believe there will be more visits to Detroit that I have to make in the very near future considering that the travel time from Toronto is only around 5 hours. To people of Detroit, Michigan - thank you for being nice on our first visit. You gave us a very good impression. |
