Welcome to Pisa | View of The Duomo/Cathedral on Piazza dei Miracoli |
I welcome you to the Leaning Tower of Pisa! Yes, been there recently, April 4, 2006 to be exact. No matter how short my visit in this very famous tower, I really cannot deny that I feel proud that I made it to this wonderful icon. The height of the tower from the ground from both the lowest and the highest sides are 55.86 meters or 183.27 feet and 56.70 meters or 186.02 feet respectively. The steps to the top. It's 294.
The next question you may have is, 'Why is it leaning?" It is because of the poor foundation, so they say. Why is Pisa so famous? This and all your other questions will be answered if you continue reading my views and tips which I will go into detail on the most important facts of this remarkable tower.
Come on, read my tips before visiting Pisa. You will be glad you did! |

christine.j Sat Apr 5, 2008 17:12 UTC Good information, especially about the transportation to the tower. I must admit I've been to Florence and never made it to Pisa. Next time, though. | scottishvisitor Sun Jan 20, 2008 22:03 UTC Good page Freddie :{ I haven't been to Italy yet might make Pisa my first stop | mvtouring Tue Sep 4, 2007 13:35 UTC One of those places that should be a must on everyone's travel wishes. ;-) | travelfrosch Sun Jul 29, 2007 13:01 UTC I like how you gave details about the tower and how to get to it, while showing there's more to Pisa than the Leaning Tower. Nice job! |
