It is indeed a memorable trip to Giza in Egypt in October 2008. This is definitely a place to see in this North African country. Giza is well known for its famous pyramids and the Great Sphinx which are located on the desert plateau.
Giza has over one million population in the community. It is hot and dry summer and moderate winter in the desert of Egypt and Giza is not an exception.
There is one event in Giza that you might not want to miss. This is the Sound and Light Show which is the most celebrated place in the whole of Egypt.
I have high hopes that this treasure will not be affected with all the protest and crises happening right now in this beautiful country.

What a fantastic page! To see the Pyramids must have been awe inspiring! Thanks for the tour Freddie!
Your way of visiting reminds me of mine. Too many tourists forget about looking at the 'real life' areas of a place they visit. Your photos are beautiful. I will be there in October and you made me aware there is more to Giza than the Pyramids. Thank you.
Very nice page! Would love to see the pyramides and the sphinx for myself one day...
Good work - useful info - greetz from belgium
I can see why you counted this as a trip of a lifetime--and exciting to think of returning and making it a further adventure! Very nice tips, Freddie...
Beautiful pictures and tips, Freddie! I'm glad you loved Egypt just as I did --- and I agree- you have to get the authentic papyrus with the "documentation" --- I got a Tut hunting with wife papyrus masterpiece!Norman :)
great tips as usual! yes aside from the sites, knowing the local ways and meeting local people is often the highlight of travel.
Yes the sights are important but the people more so + enjoyed the virtual tour!!
Haggling is the way to go! I will probably not pay 650 pounds for the ride! It's expensive! That's highway robbery! But, hey, thanks for the tip!
nakakainggit kayooooo .... i guess, i will never reach this place ;) Fantastic photos and appreciate your family bonding.
