Eiffel Tower: Illuminations at the Tower!

  • When in Paris, Eiffel Tower was our first priority. It was neatly planned. We stayed in the country for 3 nights in April 2006. We went to see Eiffel Tower twice. On our first visit, we have spent almost the whole day to be able to climb to the tower. Soon as we arrived at the scene, we lined up to buy tickets for over an hour. The ticket costs 11 Euro each to be able to go the the top floor. Needless to say, we have enjoyed everything we saw for the first time, most especially the amazing view of Paris. We stayed on top till night to take more pictures of Paris at Night. It was awesome. The next visit was nighttime right after we have toured the city of Paris on a hop-on hop-off tourist bus. Our main purpose for the second visit is to stroll around the Tower and take as many pictures as we can. We were able to witness when the tower's lights turned on. It sparkles every one hour. It was spectacular.
I would recommend that if you have one day free to see Paris, start by taking the first trip of hop-on hop-off and go around Paris. Then in late afternoon, get off at Eiffel Tower until it closes. That will be a dream come true!

    Champs Elysées: 'Popular Avenue'

  • Yes, this is a broad avenue in the heart of Paris. I visited this famous street twice and had the chance to experience what my friends told me not to miss. It is a very touristy place and the busiest street I have ever seen in Paris so far. Busy in the sense that you can find almost everything in here. Restaurants & cafes, cinemas, auto displays, specialty shops and brand name luxury stores like Cartier, Lacoste, Nike, Guerlain, and Louis Vuitton to name a few. I sat, I walk, got hungry and eat. First time we went, we had light meal at McDo and the second day we had lunch at a little bit expensive restaurant with Pasta & Pizza.

I would recommend that when you visit Champs Elysees, you may want to spend the whole day by visiting other adjoining tourist attractions. Aside from the too many shops and cafes along the avenue, you may go visit the Arc de Triomphe which is situated at the end of the Camps Elysees at the centre of the Place de l'Etoile.

Paris is a city in my Top 5 list to be visited more than once. It is number one with Rome, Cyprus, Jerusalem, London on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th post respectively.

It was a wonderful experience at Champs Elysees. For sure you will not miss the avenue. If you are in Arc de Triomphe and ready to go, just follow a flock of people and tourist alike walking towards this renowned street. Please remember when you are in Paris...Champs Elysees!

Arc de Triomphe: Arch of Triumph!

  • Another tourist attraction you should not miss while in the city of Paris is the Arc de Triomphe at the end of the popular avenue Champs-Elysees. It is in the middle of a large circular square named Place Charles de Gaulle. I did not have the chance to go up hundreds of steps to the top but I am contented with the view from the outside and the many pictures I have taken. I can give you some of the historical information that will be of help prior to your visit. Arc de Triomphe has names of generals who commanded the French troops during Napoleon regime. The arc is adorned with many reliefs, and most of them commemorating the emperor's battles. Streets around the arc were named after the French military leaders.

If you are ready to go walk up to the top, then you will enjoy the great views at the arc observatory. This could be exhaustive, nevertheless, this is what travelling is all about. Don't miss the Arc de Triomphe so that there'll be no regrets. It is a 'must see'

  • The Moulin Rouge is not only for Cabaret. It is also open for event reservation like Congresses, Seminars, Gala lunches or dinners, Fashion parades, TV Cast, Special Events, & Press Conferences.

But of course the Moulin Rouge is highlighting the current show of shows. A troupe of international artists with spectacular presentation of music and dance with those sparkling rhinestones and sequins. Can you imagine how spectacular their show will be with those uniquely designed and at least a thousand colourful costumes?

For more detailed information regarding reservation on shows and other events, please visit their website I provided below.

You will definitely be looking for gift items to be brought home. Thirty meters from the Moulin Rouge is the Gift Shop which is open during the day from 10:00AM to 7:00PM from Tuesday to Saturday. You can have a selection of a variety of souvenirs from Ashtrays, Bags, Books, Caps, CD, DVD, Jewelry, Key rings, Pens, Playing cards, Postcards, Scarfs, T-Shirts, Umbrellas, and much much more....

  • For sure you will see the Seine River when you are in the heart of the city of Paris. In the picture I posted, you will see the river from the top of the Eiffel Tower.

The river and its banks is one of the most perfect urban landscape in the world. There are many attractions on the rivers banks like the Notre Dame, the Louvre, and the famous Eiffel Tower.

You will also see beautiful bridges that crossed the Seine River and one of the most famous is the Pont-Neuf. If you want to enjoy more of the Seine River and its bridges, I would recommend you to go for a river cruise especially at night as the river banks are illuminated. It is very colourful and relaxing after a full day tour of the city. The cruise will give you an idea on the many other attractions that Paris can offer.
