I visited Berlin for a whole day tour of the city with the intention of seeing its historical architecture. It was a brief stay but just enough to experience dealing with the local people. The good and the bad side of it.
I should have stayed at least three days because of its size. Berlin is Germany's largest city and the most populated in the European Union. It is located in the eastern part of Germany, 44 miles west of Poland.
The one thing I missed is the River Spree cruise. It would have been more memorable if I experience the city's local waterways. There are tours that offers close-up views of the city of Berlin. There is also a day of adventure along the two of the famous rivers, the Spree and Havel which pass through narrow channels, large lakes, and canals. Yes, I did not have this due to time constraint. My schedule was so hectic. There is always a second chance.
The next thing - this time I did not miss, are the palaces and gardens which are so artistic and full of history. If you really want to enjoy the place, I would recommend you to walk through its lively streets and squares. You will discover the beautiful sights and get to know more of the local people and their lifestyle. The only drawback based on my experience is the language barrier. Delays could happen due to difficulties communicating. Other than that, Berlin is a city that you must see.
