Las Vegas and The Grand Canyon | Ariel view in helicoptor of our hotel |
This trip is the latest of our adventures and we really enjoyed this one. A wonderful time was had here and alot of lovely memories we took back with us too. We stayed in The Luxor Hotel which was at the south end of the strip. It didn't take us long on how to get about, don't use the monorail that goes up and down the strip because by the time you get to the station and walked a few hundred miles, well it seemed like it then you get off and have to do it all again to get out onto the strip. Use the Duce bus, if you get a 24hr ticket it's only five dollars and you can get on and off in that time as many times as you like. We did walk as much as we could but there were times when you just had to get the bus! We did The Grand Canyon twice in the time we were there. We went by coach one day to the south west rim and saw the skywalk about to be put on the side of the rock face, so wanted to get on that! It's now in use as it was all in the national papers when we got back to England. So I have a couple of photos of the new Skywalk but still on the ground!
We met a few of the local indians when we arrived and they showed us around some of the homes they used to build, it's the tourist bit they like to show you. Lovely people they were too. Whilst we were in that part we saw Eagle Rock, amazing. We had lunch which was cooked by the locals, and could not believe we were sitting on the edge of the Grand Canyon having something to eat! It was so surreal. We then went onto the Cowboy Ranch where we were entertained by a shoot out and after they played dead posed for some photographs! Had a lovely day there and some great experiences. Later that week we flew into the Grand Canyon on the south rim and had a picnic lunch there. That was fantastic, the helicopter ride which was about 50mins there and the same coming back, and was wonderful to see another part of the canyon and to be in it this time. When we flew back we were taken down the vegas strip, we really enjoyed it. |
