Well, what can I say about Barcelona. Lots of people I know have been here, but I could not comprehend how beautiful it is, and such a big city. Doing the cruise we only got a taster. I would love to have had a long weekend here. So we crammed what we could into almost a day.
We had originaly booked a trip, which consisted of Barcelona by Bike! Was really looking forward to that too. It was cancelled due to not enough people doing it???
So, we thought well we'll do our own thing and get around on the tour bus. I really wanted to go down the avenue of La Rambla, where all the shops were, but was more interested in the side streets from them. I had been told they were much more interesting and cheaper! Sadly I didn't get chance to do it, as the bus tour took preference as I had my husband with me. Maybe next time!!
Still an enjoyable day, despite it rained a bit on and off and was cold on top of the open top tour bus.
We first got off at the Church of La Sarada Familia. An amazing sight with still the familiar cranes and scaffolding. Will this ever be completed do you think?
We had a good wonder around it, took lots of photos but had to get on the bus again to see more of Barcelona, as we had to watch the time to get back to our ship, and wanted to get everything in.

Park Guell

We had to go to this park, as my daughter raved on about it as she had been here for a long weekend a few months earlier.
It was just as amazing as she said, and felt in a way I had been here before after seeing all her photos of it.
Park Guell was designed by Gaudi in the early 20th century.

The city of Barcelona

We made sure we took the bus that took us around the famous Barcelona football stadium. My husband being a footie fan had to at least see the outside of it! We then went onto the cable car so we could see Barcelona in all it's glory.
The cable car took us up to the castle there, where we could also see our ship in the dock there. Once again fantastic views of the city
