40 Billion Tourists Can't All Be Wrong OK, Rothenburg hasn't had 40 billion visitors, but during a busy summer weekend, it seems so, and that they are all there then. Rothenburg's status as one of Germany's most visited towns does not seem to be slowing, which has made it a bit unpopular with some of the other VT members. It is also somewhat criicized for not being "authentic", by some. Rothenburg actually fared much better than most areas of Germany in avoiding destruction during the many wars. What was not destroyed, and the effort to rebuild what was, plus the town's location at the crossroads of the Castle Road, and Romantic Road, makes it worth a visit to me |
